General Enduring Power of Attorney
A General Enduring Power of Attorney allows you to appoint a person(s) to make property and financial decisions and act on your behalf if for whatever reason you are unable to do so. Completing an enduring power of attorney allows you to choose who manages your financial affair and is a relatively inexpensive process. A General Enduring Power of Attorney minimises immediate hardship that may arise due to a sudden illness or incapacitation.
Enduring Guardianship
An Enduring Guardianship allows you to appoint a person(s) to make medical and lifestyle decisions on your behalf if you are unable to make these decisions for yourself. These decisions can include such things as whether you live in a nursing home, what medical treatment you receive and any other decisions affecting your quality of life. An Enduring Guardianship differs from a General Enduring Power of Attorney in that it allows for the making of medical decisions.
Wills
A Will outlines how your assets are to be distributed after you die and may include provisions for the care of your children It allows you to nominate a person who will be responsible for ensuring that your wishes are met. If you die without preparing a correctly executed Will your assets may be distributed according to the relevant state legislation. This may result in them being distributed in a way that you never intended.
Estate Planning is necessary to ensure that your wishes both financial and lifestyle are carried out. We strongly encourage you to undertake the Estate Planning process with us, you never know when it could be too late.
